My current stats and exercise routine

December 2, 2011

My current stats as of January 1, 2012:
  • Height: 5 foot 7 inches
  • Weight: 143.2 pounds
  • Body fat: 11.7%
As you can see here (by the stats, and month old picture), I'm not a very big guy to start with, and I'm not morbidly obese or anything like that.

Here's a quick run down of my starting/current exercise routine:
  • Sunday:
    • Rest and recovery day
  • Monday (Pullups):
    • Vertical pull - Target: 3 sets of 40
  • Tuesday (Martial arts and bridges):
    • NINRU Kung-Fu - 2 hour class
    • Short bridge - Target: 3 sets of 50
  • Wednesday (Handstand pushups):
    •  Wall headstand - Target: 2 minutes
  • Thursday (Leg raises):
    •  Knee tuck - Target: 3 sets of 40
  • Friday (Martial arts and squats):
    • NINRU Kung-Fu - 2 hour class
    • Shoulder-stand squat - Target: 3 sets of 40
  • Saturday (Pushups):
    • Wall pushup - Target: 3 sets of 50
I know most of those sound pretty simple, but everybody has to start somewhere. The lower intensity exercises like those in this starting routine really help to strengthen and toughen up the joints and soft tissues that hold everything together. There's no point on having a muscular outside without the strong underlying support structure to help prevent injuries during more advanced exercises.

Yesterday being Monday (pullup day), I knocked off 3 sets of 40 vertical pulls, easy enough. I felt a little tension across the top of my back but otherwise feeling fine.
